Mastercard to partner with FinTech North to develop and grow the Northern FinTech ecosystems

The national FinTech market is evolving and expanding, as evidenced recently when a strategic review of UK FinTech (the Kalifa Review) identified two of 10 FinTech clusters in the UK to be based in the North (The established Pennines cluster of Leeds & Manchester and the emerging cluster of Newcastle-Durham).
Mastercard need no introduction as a global provider of Financial Services and key supporter of the UK FinTech sector.
In light of the Northern FinTech ecosystem going from strength to strength, the timing could not be better to form lasting partnerships to help support and develop sustainable FinTech growth across the North. We are therefore delighted to announce that Mastercard is partnering with FinTech North, to help develop the FinTech sector in the North and across the UK.
FinTech North helps build and sustain a dedicated FinTech community across the Northern Powerhouse. We bring together a community of over 4k people who are interested in and work in FinTech in the North, through events, conferences, webinars and trade missions.
Joe Roche, Engagement Manager at FinTech North said; “We are delighted to be partnering with Mastercard, who need no introduction as one of the most significant players in the UK FS ecosystem and the UK market leader in the provision of financial services. We look forward to working with the Mastercard team and helping them continue to raise awareness of the many FinTech opportunities and developments they are involved in.”
As part of a year long partnership, Mastercard will support activity that assists in developing the ecosystems and growing FinTechs in the North, including supporting events focussed on Financial Inclusion and various Northern conferences across the year.
