FinTech North announces final five challenge areas as part of the FinTech Challenge Leeds – a FinTech Innovation Challenge

FinTech North is delighted to announce five challenge areas as part of the brand new FinTech Challenge Leeds, a FinTech innovation challenged aimed at bringing together established Financial Services institutions with FinTechs to collaborate.

As part of the FinTech Challenge Leeds, an initiative supported by Leeds City Council and sponsored by Lloyds Banking Group and NEXUS, FinTech North will bring together the Northern FinTech community together to impact the following areas:

  1. Green Finance
  2. Home ownership
  3. Financial inclusion
  4. Equality, diversity and bias
  5. AI, Banking and Payments

We are also thrilled to announce our fantastic challenge owners, leading Leeds-based academic and financial services institutions who will help to lead our content:

  • NEXUS / University of Leeds – Equality Diversity and Bias, Green Finance
  • Leeds Building Society – Home ownership
  • TransUnion – Financial inclusion
  • Lloyds Banking Group – AI, Banking and Payments

We would like to thank all of our Challenge Owners for their leadership in these areas and we look forward to delivering the Challenge with their support.

As part of the FinTech Challenge Leeds, we will be running an immersive series of workshops in partnership with our challenge owners in order to achieve the following objectives:

The first challenge workshop was hosted on 20th April at NEXUS in Leeds, please click here to read our write-up of the event, which was well received by everyone involved. We will now be working with our challenge groups individually and we plan to feature the challenge at our Leeds Conference on 29th June.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda, providing £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
